This public lecture given by Douglas Pompeu relates to his wider research on the archives of Siegfried Unseld, editor of the Suhrkamp Verlag (one of the leading publishing houses in post-war Europe).
Douglas Pompeu received his doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2018. In October of that same year, he began working as an associated researcher in the German Literature Archive in Marbach, where he coordinates the projects “Global Archives” (https://www.dla-marbach.de/forschung/global-archives/) and „Global Publishers as cultural mediators: from Cotta to the present day of Open Access“. He also works as translator, editor and author. Since 2016 he has been an editorial member of the literature magazine alba – lateinamerika lesen in Berlin (https://www.albamagazin.de). Over the last two years his translations of Kurt Schwitters, Jan Wagner and Carl Seelig were published in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. At present, he is preparing an anthology of German contemporary poetry in Brazilian Portuguese.
